Martin Community
College will offer healthcare and "green technology"
training programs as part of a statewide JobsNOW! 12 in
6 initiative. The Training will begin September
2009.
JobsNOW! 12 in 6 is Governor Beverly
Purdue's initiative that is developed and implemented by North
Carolina Community Colleges. The objective is to train
displaced workers in six months or less with the skills that
quality them for jobs that are in demand locally and across the
state. Funding for this initiative is supported by the
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the Division of
Workforce Development, the Department of Commerce, and the Region Q Workforce Development
Board.
There are five training
programs that comprise the JobsNoW! 12 in 6
