The Accounting curriculum is designed to provide students with the knowledge
and the skills necessary for employment and growth in the accounting
profession. Using the “language of business,” accountants assemble and
analyze, process, and communicate essential information about financial
operations.
In addition to course work in accounting principles,
theories, and practice, students will study business law, finance,
management, and economics. Related skills are developed through the study of
communications, computer applications, financial analysis, critical thinking
skills, and ethics.
Students may pursue an
Associates Degree, Diploma, and or Certificate.
Go to the
Martin
Community College 2006-08 Catalog for complete program requirements and
course information. A program course outline or graduation "Check
Sheet" is available online at the
Student Access Center.

In 1995, the Kappa Eta Chapter of Alpha Beta Gamma (ABG), and International
Business Honor Society, was established at MCC to recognize academic
excellence among students in business curricula and provide students
professional and career development opportunities. Since its inception, the
number of students inducted into the local chapter of ABG has grown
steadily. Members are active in supporting both the college and community
activities. In recent years, members have supported the Ronald McDonald
House of Eastern North Carolina, Toys for Tots, Coats for Kids, March of
Dimes, U.S. troops overseas, and the college's Student Government
Association. The chapter also attends national and international
conventions. For more information on the Kappa Eta Chapter of Alpha
Beta Gamma

Career planning and placement assistance is offered by the college
