 Curriculum Description                Curriculum

The General Occupational Technology curriculum provides students with an opportunity to upgrade their skills and to earn an associate degree by taking courses suited for their occupational interests and/or needs. The curriculum content will be individualized for students according to their occupational interests and needs.  Students pursing admissions into limited enrollment programs like Dental Assisting, Physical Therapy Assistant, or nursing should enroll in the GOT curriculum and take the general education requirements for the limited enrollment program.  A program of study for each student will be selected from associate degree level courses offered by the College.

The General Education curriculum provides students a general course of study to transfer to a four year college and take courses suited to their occupational interests. Students who have earned a certificate, diploma, or an Associate of Applied Science degree in a particular program area and who want to apply some of courses from those programs to a more transferable course of study would find the General Education program beneficial.

Students in both programs need to work closely with their advisor to insure they meet limited enrollment program requirements and or college transfer requirements.
Students may pursue an Associates of Applied Science Degree in General Occupational Technology or an Associate of General Education.
