|
The Industrial Systems Technology curriculum is designed to prepare or upgrade individuals to service, maintain, repair, or install equipment for a wide range of industries. Instruction includes theory and skill training needed for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and diagnosing industrial equipment and physical facilities. Students will learn technical skills in blueprint reading, electricity, hydraulics/pneumatics, machining, welding, and various maintenance procedures. Practical application in these industrial systems will be emphasized and additional advanced course work may be offered. Students may pursue an Associates Degree, Diploma, and or Certificate. Students interested in furthering their education may transfer courses from the Industrial Systems Technology program to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology (BSIT) at East Carolina University and other participating UNC System Universities. Students interested in transferring should consult with their advisor, the college counselor, and ECU as they plan their course schedule. For more information click here. Students in the two year associate degree program participate in MCC's Co-op
program that combines classroom learning experiences with one or more
semesters of employment while completing their degrees. The
professional work experience awards academic credit toward graduation and is
closely related to the student's academic program of study. Co-op
education is considered an integral part of the learning process as it
enhances the student's academic knowledge, personal development, and
professional development. |

The Industrial Systems Technology Program has two classrooms/labs for
training. One classroom/lab is used to teach maintenance and machine
shop practices. The other is used to teach welding, pipefitting,, and
pneumatic/hydraulic principles. In addition, the program utilizes the
electrical, air conditioning, heating and refrigeration, and programmable
logic controller labs. Martin Community College, with it's picturesque 65 acre main campus located
in Williamston, the center of northeastern North Carolina, provides a
convenient setting for commuting students. For information about the
