Concealed Handgun Class $70.00 Saturday, May 27th, 2006 This class meets the requirements of the concealed handgun permit law in North Carolina. Anyone who wishes to obtain a permit to carry a concealed handgun on their person or in their vehicle must take and pass this class. Chief Steve Smith, Williamston PD, will be the instructor. To register for this class, fill out a registration form and email it to Larry Boyd using the instructions provided. The North Carolina General Assembly enacted a concealed handgun law that allows qualifying citizens of North Carolina the opportunity to obtain a permit to carry a concealed handgun. This law became effective on December 1,1995, and requires that the permit be secured from the sheriff of the permittee's county of residence. Once issued, the permit is valid throughout the state for a period of four years, unless it has been revoked. For more information about concealed handgun permits go to http://www.ncdoj.com/law_enforcement/cle_handguns.jsp. This class will start at 8:00 am at Martin Community College in Building 1, Room 33. There will be a class on safety, concealed handgun laws, and fundamentals of marksmanship. After the class there will be a handgun qualification course at our range. The fee is $70.00 which will be collected at the time of the class. Students must provide their own handgun and 50 rounds of ammunition. We will provide eye and ear protection. Please leave your weapons and ammunition secured in your vehicle. The instructor will let you know when you need to get your weapons.
