he Basic Skills Program provides classes for individuals who have demonstrated a need for improvement in math, reading, and/or English, and living skills in order to earn a GED or Adult High School Diploma, further their education, or function in society.

For admission to Basic Skills classes, a person must be 18 years of age. However, school dropouts between the ages of 16 and 18 may be admitted as students with special needs. High school graduates may enroll for remedial or life skills training. To enroll go by the class nearest to you.

All Basic Skills classes are offered free of charge. However, students must pay a $7.50 fee for taking the battery of GED tests.

A program that provides instruction in reading, writing, and math which serve as a foundation for additional studies.

A program of instruction in writing, social studies, science, literature and the arts, and mathematics designed to prepare adult students to take the GED tests to qualify for a state-issued High School Diploma Equivalency.

A program of instruction for mentally handicapped adults. Areas of study include language, math, health, social studies, community living, consumer education, and vocational education.

A program of instruction designed for adults who want to learn the English language skills necessary to function effectively in an English-speaking environment.

Family Literacy is an intergenerational approach to education which is beneficial to both parent and child. Children attend a pre-school program while parents participate in the adult program to upgrade basic skills, improve parenting skills, and prepare for the GED.

Workforce Education consists of Basic Skills classes that are customized to meet specific industry requests. Classes may be held on-site and are designed to help employees upgrade competencies relating to job performance and/or personal development.
