Consumer Information Disclosures

Martin Community College is committed to providing current and prospective students, parents, employees, and the general public with access to essential information as required by the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended. This Consumer Information Disclosure is organized in compliance with 34 CFR 668.41(a)-(d) and is divided into the following three categories:

Student Financial Assistance

In accordance with 34 CFR 668.41(d)(1) and 668.42, the following information is provided to help students understand available financial assistance:

  • Overview of Financial Aid Programs and How to Apply for Aid: Learn about federal, state, and institutional aid programs available to MCC students, including grants, scholarships, and work-study opportunities at https://www.martincc.edu/scholarships.
  • How to Apply for Aid: Find a step-by-step guide on completing the FAFSA and understanding eligibility criteria at https://www.martincc.edu/financialaid. Institutional scholarships can be applied for at https://www.martincc.edu/scholarshipapplications.
  • Eligibility Requirements: Information on maintaining eligibility for federal student aid, including Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards can be found at https://www.martincc.edu/farequirements.
  • Rights and Responsibilities of Aid Recipients: Students receiving financial aid have specific rights and responsibilities. See the College Catalog, pages 131-135, at 2025-2026 College Catalog.
  • Disbursement of Financial Aid: Disbursements are made to students through U.S. Mail using the official mailing address students have on file with the college. Multiple disbursements are made throughout the semester. Federal awards, such as the Pell Grant, are distributed within # days of the college’s receipt of funds.
  • Loan Information and Counseling (if applicable): Martin Community College does not participate in the Direct Loan Program.

General Institutional Information

In accordance with 34 CFR 668.41(d)(2) and 668.43, the following institutional information is disclosed:

  • Cost of Attendance and Net Price Calculator: In-State and Out-of-State Tuition Rates are set by the North Carolina General Assembly and may change without notice. Tuition rates are available at https://www.martincc.edu/curriculumtuition. Students pay per credit hour up to a maximum of 16 credit hours. Hours taken over 16 are not charged. The costs of textbooks and supplies are additional expenses which vary according to the program of study or courses taken. Tuition is waived for students taking curriculum courses in Career & College Promise Pathways and for courses provided to students of Early College High Schools. Home-schooled students may be eligible to enroll in a Career and College Promise program(s). The college’s Net Price Calculator is accessible at https://www.martincc.edu/npc.
  • Refund Policy: A 100 percent refund shall be made if the student officially withdraws prior to the first day of class(es) of the academic semester as noted in the college calendar. Also, a student is eligible for a 100 percent refund if the class in which the student is officially registered fails to “make” due to insufficient enrollment. Additional information on tuition refunds is available on p. 130 of the 2025-2026 College Catalog.
  • Withdrawing from the Institution: Students are responsible for completing the course withdrawal form and obtaining each instructor’s signature prior to submitting it to the Registrar’s Office. All students must obtain the instructor’s signature and last date of attendance. To be officially withdrawn from a course(s), the form must be received in the Registrar’s Office.
  • Return of Title IV Grants: If a recipient of Title IV funds withdraws from the school then the institution uses a pro rata schedule to determine the amount of Title IV funds the student has earned at the time of withdrawal.   • Educational Programs and Instructional Facilities: Program descriptions, degree requirements, and instructional locations are available in the 2025-2026 College Catalog and online at https://www.martincc.edu/programs.   • Professional Licensure Requirements: The U.S. Department of Education regulations require disclosures for all programs leading to licensure or certification. Disclosures are provided for all states indicating whether the program curriculum meets state educational requirement for licensure or certification or whether the program curriculum does not meets state educational requirement for licensure or certification.   • Student Complaint and Grievance Procedures: Martin Community College’s grievance policy provides for the fair and prompt consideration of student complaints. The Six-Step Grievance Procedure is available at https://www.martincc.edu/student-grievances.
  • Title IX (Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Sex): Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any education program or activity that receives federal financial assistance. Information about MCC’s Title IX policy and the Title IX Coordinator is available at https://www.martincc.edu/title-ix.
  • Facilities and Services for Students with Disabilities: Martin Community College supports the Americans with Disabilities Act and is sensitive to the needs of students with documented disabilities.   • Martin Community College does not currently participate in study abroad programs.
  • Transfer of Credit and Prior Learning: Martin Community College (MCC) awards credit to students for prior learning through non-credit coursework and from previously completed instruction transferred from accredited institutions of higher learning, work-based learning programs, and skill-based experiences related to a program of study. More information is available on pages 137-138 of the 2025-2026 College Catalog.
  • Accreditation and Licensure: Martin Community College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). For more information, visit https://www.martincc.edu/accreditation.
  • Privacy of Student Records (FERPA): Students have access to their academic records at Martin Community College. Academic records for curriculum students are housed in the Registrar’s Office and can be viewed by the student by scheduling an appointment with the Registrar. More information regarding student records, FERPA, and directory information, can be found on p. 157 of the 2025-2026 College Catalog.
  • Textbook Information: Class schedules as well as textbook price lists and ISBNs are available for download in PDF format at https://www.martincc.edu/curriculumclassschedule. Textbooks are available for purchase at the https://www.martincc.edu/bookstore.

Student Outcomes

In accordance with 34 CFR 668.41(d)(3) and 668.41(d)(4), the following student outcome information is provided:

  • Graduation and Transfer-Out Rates: As reported to IPEDS, Martin Community College’s most recent overall graduation rate (within 150% of normal time) is 38%, and the transfer-out rate is 3%. For more information, visit IPEDS College Navigator – MCC.
  • Retention Rate: As reported to IPEDS, Martin Community College’s most recent retention rate for full-time students is 58%. For more information, visit IPEDS College Navigator – MCC.
  • NCCCS Performance Measures: The Performance Measures for Student Success Report is the North Carolina Community College System’s major accountability document and Martin Community College’s primary measure of student success and achievement. This annual performance report is based on data compiled during the previous year and serves to inform colleges and the public on the performance of our 58 community colleges.
