BLET Begins July 24

MCC’s next BLET (Basic Law Enforcement Training) program has been scheduled to begin again on July 24.

Classes are conducted from 6 to 10 pm, Monday through Friday, and every other weekend during the day time.

This 639 hour course of study is mandated by the state for all certified law enforcement officers. All of these classes are conducted on the MCC campus with the exception of driver training. It takes approximately 16 weeks to complete this course and concludes with a comprehensive written exam and skills testing. Successful completers may then sit for the state’s comprehensive examination.

Those interested in applying must complete a packet of information and forms no later than July 10. The application packets may be downloaded from the MCC website or obtained in person or by mail from Wayland Mitchell at wayland.mitchell@martincc.edu or 252-789-0267.
