Pre-Dental Associate Degree in General Occupational Technology (A55280D)

The General Occupational Technology Pre-Dental Assisting curriculum provides individuals with an opportunity to upgrade their skills and meet entry requirements into the Dental Assisting Program.

Applicants for the Dental Assisting program must have at least a 2.5 GPA and have met all developmental course requirements (ENG 90, RED 90, & MAT 60).

Students with a low GPA or developmental needs are encouraged to enroll in the GOT program with a focus on the Dental Office Support Certificate which consists of the following: CIS 111--Basic PC Literacy; OST 143--Dental Office Terminology; OST 147--Dental Billing & Coding; and, OST 149--Medical Legal Issues.

Students may also have an opportunity to complete courses in the Dental Assisting Program such as the following: ACA 115--Success & Study Skills; ENG 102--Applied Communication; BIO 106--Anatomy, Physiology, and Microbiology; PSY 150--General Psychology; or, PSY 118--Interpersonal Psychology.

Students may also consider Medical Office Administration courses.
