College & Career Readiness
The College and Career Readiness program is designed to help adults refresh or learn new skills necessary for employment and self-sufficiency. We assist students preparing for High School Equivalency (HSE/GED) and a range of foundational programs. All of our classes are free.
Programs Offered
- Adult Basic Education (ABE) — reading, writing, math
- High School Equivalency (HSE/GED®)
- English Language Acquisition (ELA / ESL)
- HSE/GED® Online Classes
- Digital Literacy — offered at no charge
Technical Standards for Admission
- Interact clearly with instructors and other students
- Follow instructions carefully
- Demonstrate respect for others
- Work cooperatively with peers
- Be self-directed in learning
- Follow MCC’s student conduct code
- Complete the NRS-approved CASAS assessment
- Be at least 18 years old (or 16–17 with documentation of withdrawal)
- Not be currently enrolled in high school
Testing Costs
The complete GED testing series — Math, Social Studies, English, and Science — is $104.00 ($26.00 per test). Funding may be available; ask your instructor for assistance.
