Veterans Admissions
General regulations in this catalog pertain to all students. Below are special conditions for enrollment of veterans.
Admission
The Department of Veteran Affairs requires that no eligible veteran will be certified until all admission requirements are met. To meet admission requirements, the student must provide:

Application for admission

Official high school transcript or equivalent

Official college transcripts for all previous education or training

Placement test scores, if required

DD 214 form and certificate of eligibility
Repeat of Courses – Veterans and eligible dependents may not repeat courses for veterans’ benefi ts in which a grade of A, B, C, D, or AR was made.
Adjustments and Terminations – It is the veteran’s responsibility to notify the certifying offi cial within 10 days of withdrawing from any/all courses.
Curriculum Change – A request for change of program must be fi led with DVA at the beginning of the semester in which the change is anticipated.
Address Change – The DVA must be notifi ed of any change of address to which assistance checks are mailed. Forms for this purpose are available from the NC Dept. of VA.
Credit Hour Enrollment

12 or more = full time

9 – 11 = 3/4 time

6 – 8 = 1/2 time

less than 6 = tuition only
Students cannot receive VA benefi ts for Credit by Exam courses (section 30). Credit cannot be given for courses not listed under the student’s curriculum outline with the exception of developmental courses (course numbers under 100) that are required to complete the student’s chosen program of study. Full-time for Summer is 7 hours for veterans. Fall and Spring Semester include 12 hours for full-time enrollment.
