
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Continuing Education
The EMT Program at Martin Community College may consist of any combination of didactic, lab, online, and clinical education at or above the minimum of 288 hours as set forth by the North Carolina Office of EMS. MCC’s EMT Program is provided through the Continuing Education Department, with the program being qualified for up to 6 transfer credits at participating institutions.
Program Goal: To prepare Emergency Medical Technicians who are competent in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains to enter the profession.
Current Program Requirement: 288.0 hours.
EMT Cadets must meet the following requirements:
Be at least 17 years of age by program end date
Possession of a high school diploma, high school equivalency or successful completion of an exam assessing reading comprehension skills at a minimum at the eleventh-grade level.
Hold a current and valid Class C driver’s license
